A YOUNG lad took these
dramatic photos of a couple
being rescued after their yacht
ran aground.
The couple, in their 60s, were
eventually plucked to safety
after two attempts to get a line
to their 32ft yacht failed.
Hundreds of people gathered
to watch the drama off Corbyn
Head in Torquay, Devon,
including the 13-year-old
photographer Joe Widdecombe.
RNLI spokesman Colin Bower
said the couple were unhurt but
“badly shaken and distressed”.
Elsewhere tourists had plenty
of fun in the bank holiday sun.
On the north Yorkshire coast

A TEENAGE girl has died
of chest injuries after being
stood on by her horse.
Elizabeth Colton, 13, was
tending to the animal on
Friday when she fell to the
ground.
Police said the horse is
then believed to have stood
on the girl while she was
on the fl oor.
She was airlifted to the
Royal Lancaster Infi rmary
but died later that day.
There are not thought to
be any suspicious
circumstances and the
coroner has been informed.
Her parents were too
distraught to speak.
The horse was kept at a
stable near the family
home in Garsdale,
Cumbria, and it is
understood the incident
happened in a paddock.
A Cumbria police
spokesman said: “It
appears that the young girl
was tending the horse in
its paddock when she lost
control of it and it is
understood to have stood
on her after she fell to the
ground.
“She suffered severe
chest injuries.”

both sides in court.”
Mr Spearman, once
named Mr Privacy by an
industry magazine, represented
hooker Helen Wood.
She claimed she had a
threesome with Wayne
Rooney, 25, and Jenny
Thompson, 22, while wife
Coleen, 25, was pregnant.
And Helen, 24, was keen
to tell all about another of
her clients, a famous actor,
but Mr Tomlinson fought
for her to be gagged.
The pair were also on
opposing sides in the case
of a footballer as he battled
a newspaper. They also
clashed before Ben Collins,
36, revealed he was Top
Gear’s The Stig.
